how do you say in Arabic happy april fool’s day to Jonblat, Ja3ja3 and 14 march” since this is your holiday and yours alone ?
Lebanon. Translation to Arabic please ?
Could someone please explain to me the conflicts in Palestine and Israel?
IMPARTIALLY please. I genuinely want to know.
I looked on various websites after I came across a picture or Rachel Corrie. I wanted to know why there had been a bulldozer in Palestine and why she was there in the first place. So I looked on Wikipedia and then followed a link to about how the bulldozer was there to destroy the home of a Palestinian pharmacist, his wife and three children. Now, I may be naive, (I’m just a kid) but is I think it is a bit stupid that people today are dying because of cultural and political friction.
Could someone please explain to me why there is so much tension, why there is so much violence and why there is so much death? And why innocent people who have personally never done anything wrong are suffering?
It sounds silly that people are suffering by the hands of other people. Regardless of reason. Because we decide based upon WW1, WW2, the holocaust, genocide in Rwanda and other places, and 911 – that killing people is bad and we should not do it.
I stopped in Syria for 2 days on a family holiday when a flight was delayed, and was really upset when a family friend showing us the sights told us that the children on the sides of the roads with infants were refugees from Lebanon. They were about my age. Why don’t people see that these wars destroy peoples lives and stop them?
Thank you in advance for your respectful answers.
Can someone explain what is going on with Israel and Lebanon?
I have absolutely no idea what is going on with this situation. I made it a point to stay away from news while I was on vacation. I went to a news site and saw “Hezbollah declares open war” and that Israel went in and started bombing Lebanon like crazy because of some kidnapping.
If at all possible can you give me a non partisan, non political answer and just explain the facts and let me decide on merits of the 2 sides?
Lebanon: Speak in a week :) What is your favourite season?
Hopefully this question won’t get reported since all my other questions get deleted…… even though I make sure there is nothing offensive at all :S
I’m leaving for a holiday tomorrow & will be back next weekend

My holiday to Lebanon?
I am going to Lebanon soon to meet with my friend but I am worried about the kind of attention I might get and if it will be safe for me. I dress conservatively but, being part Swedish, I am very fair and have long blond hair and blue eyes..
I am worried that i might get followed etc because I heard how the arabs love blond hair blue eyed women.
Would it be safer for me to wear a head scarf?
Thanks
hahaaa…you are all jealous of me already!!!!!
What about the new Eid stamp?
An email said that the USPS is issuing a new stamp, on which is written EID greetings in English, and something in Arabic.
The communication I received asked the following questions, and I was wondering what to answer.
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of PanAm Flight 103!?
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the Marine Barracks in Lebanon!
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the military barracks in Saudi Arabia! ?
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the American Embassies in Africa! ?
REMEMBER the MUSLIM bombing of the USS COLE?
REMEMBER the MUSLIM attack on 9/11/2001!
REMEMBER all the AMERICAN lives that were lost in those vicious MUSLIM attacks! ?
Now the United States Postal Service REMEMBERS and HONORS the EID MUSLIM holiday season with a commemorative first class Holiday postage stamp.
REMEMBER to adamantly and vocally BOYCOTT this stamp when purchasing your stamps at the post office.
The communication closes with
“To use this stamp would be a slap in the face to all those AMERICANS who died at the hands of those whom this stamp honors.
“REMEMBER to pass this along to every patriotic American you know!”
So, how shall I respond?
The stamp is indeed discussed on Snopes, but it is NOT a hoax.
Snopes says, “The U.S. Postal Service issued its Eid stamp commemorating the Muslim holidays Eid al-Fitr (marking the end of Ramadan) and Eid al-Adha (marking the end of the pilgrimage to Mecca) on September 1, 2001 as part of its multicultural Holiday Celebrations series. It was evidently the reissuing of this popular postage stamp one year later in October 2002 — barely a month after the first anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11 — that prompted this angry email protest.”
The only problem is that this stamp is not new, but has been issued for six or seven years already.
