With good friday holiday being replaced by hariri day. what next christian holiday will be replaced with a nasrallah or a fadlallah day or something to that extent? Think about it. Give the lebanese christians another 10 years at best before they will have to face the writing on the wall – Islamic Republic of Lebanon. Sunni/Shia a la Iraqi Style.

Yep , that’s what they did here ….even people who live overseas but came here at some time on a working holiday got it ….as well as a number of dead people !
Tris….last year we had a $20 billion surplus …this year a $ 50 billion deficit …that’s a turnaround of $70 billion in just a year ….we are rapidly going down the plughole mate !
I am hoping to visit my boyfriend in Lebanon this summer. He is there on his summer vacation. Later today, I am leaving to take my own summer vacation to Serbia (which is where I’m originally from). I would be travelling to Lebanon from Serbia with a Canadian passport. What difficulties could I possibly run into? Do I need a Visa? Do we need to pretend that we’re engaged?
I am planning to go to visit family in Lebanon over the coming few days and am slightly concerned with the trouble in the north (at the palestinian camp), ever present threat of trouble in the south with Israel, and ongoing car bombs and assasinations in Beirut itself that my movement may be restricted and my safety may be jeopardised. My family say it should be fine but to them im sure all of this is relatively normal and low key!! I understand that much of the infrastructure of the south has not been re-built and travel is still restricted becuase of this. What kind of holiday can i expect to have – are pople still going out and able to have fun – and is it safe enough for me to go?

Also btw when is the Baalbeck Festival?
I know this is like one of the many questions I’ve asked but its just I wanna be prepared because its going to be for frist trip to Lebanon and the middle east so its best i plan it well
