hey smithers!
i do agree that Leb is an extemely beautiful country
i think u should go for Jbeil, its awesome. i adore it! and you will too :)
Jbeil has everything, most beautiful beaches in Lebanon, restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, historical places to visit... the weather is great and warm, and its very close to Batroun where you have many nightclubs and its close to Beirut (the capital) so you have everything you desire.
and as for the people that are talking horrible stuff about our country, its because they are seeing only the negative side of it! i do agree that Lebanon is not the perfect place on Earth but i do love it with all its good and bad things :)
is this ur first visit to Lebanon? and where are u from?
hope you'll enjoy ur vacation wherever u decided to go!

BYBLOS. Weather there is warm and there are plenty of beach resorts like Eddesands or Bay 183 (Voile Bleu). Byblos, as you might know is a very historical city and you can take tours around the Citadel or do some shopping in the Old Souk where they sell things like jewerly and other things but mostly art. Recently, Byblos has built a few great restaurents and clubs you might be interested in going to. I was watching a travel show on Lebanon and they said Byblos is the restaurent capital of Lebanon, so you could imagine the nightlife and the delicious foods. The best place to eat is probably along the Mina.

Tip: If you've never been in Lebanon, I would suggest taking taxis because we Lebanese are crazy drivers! HaHaHa LOL!
PEACE!

I love Jounieh. It has everything - great shops, food, beaches, hotels, and nightlife. Byblos is very nice too, but the beach is better in Jounieh. Don't forget about the mountains in Lebanon for they are also beautiful. I have been living in Beirut for 3 months now and 2 weeks after I came war broke out. I heard the gunfire but I didn't see anything because I was in an area where there was no fighting and I still went out and ate at restaurants and did my shopping. This is the way Lebanon is. War in one area, and peace in another. If you come now I would stay away from Tripoli because they were fighting there last week.

Lebanon is an extremely beautiful country, and I don't know anyone who doesn't enjoy their visit there.
Byblos-Amchit comes to mind first, but also as Deemo said south Lebanon is beautiful too.

Most people saying horrible stuff come from the neighbourhood down south, I personally don't report them, they have enough on their plate. They are coming to terms with the fact that they no longer have the absolute upper hand in the region, and that they might not be able to bully their way around like they did for the past 50 years.

Humble pie is hard to swallow.
maybe once that reality check sinks in, we can finally sit at the same table and negotiate a fair peace settlement for all.
