My fiancee and I would love to getaway this weekend, we had planned on going to Dollywood but the weather is not going to permit! Does anyone have any ideas on a fun indoor weekend getaway? We don’t want to fly (too expensive) but we will travel as far as North Carolina (We Live in Lebanon Va) any Ideas?
Wheew, Dollywood is tough act to replace!! Have you thought about the Mall or maybe a Wendys.
You could do a lot of indoor things. If you want to drive up to NJ you can go to Atlantic City. You could also travel a few hours out to a hotel where you can have spa treatments and relax. Also look up museums, aquariums, etc that you can visit.
The weather in Northern Virginia is supposed to be pretty nice this weekend so you could come to DC to see the museums and the National Zoo. It would be a bit of a drive. My husband and I love the area around the Natural Bridge and Roanoke. There’s the Virginia Safari Park (off I81 near Natural Bridge) where you feed the animals from your car and a couple of caves in the area.
Your a day trip away to Cape Cod, New Hampshire white Mountains or Maine.
