Isn’t Lebanon cheap to travel to?

lebanon resorts
None asked:

Why does Lebanon have a reputation of being very expensive? I checked the prices of hotels in Beirut, and found them to be really affordable. The resorts are not that expensive (Beach entrance 15 000 L.L.) and meals are really affordable. Falafel, Mankousheh 1500 L.L. Dinner 10 000 L.L.
Transportation is extremely cheap (Bus, service).

It’s not expensive once you are there but depending where you are coming from , the cost of getting there can be incredible !

Well, before this summer, before the whole Hezbollah thing happened, Beirut was in much better shape than it is now. It was actually kind of a major travel spot, and it was VERY pretty. After the Hezbollah thing, obviously less people have been wanting to go so they’re lowering their prices to get people to come. People might still be thnking of the past in saying that it was expensive, because it wasn’t totally expensive, but it wasn’t completely cheap either. But then again, that’s just my opinion. Good luck!

    hey beautiful

that depends on what you want to do there…. if you want to explore everything there.. and i mean everything!! it is gana cost you more then just going there to have a little fun….. it is also gana cost you the ticket.. and as ausse said tha depends on where you are from…

ppl might have said it was expencive because for them it might have been… also that they were from a cuntry that they had to pay alot…

Lebanon is an expensive country for people who work and live there. Lebanese get paid very low rates that barely can pay for electricity, telephone and water bills. The entrance fee of 15000L.L. is expensive for a Lebanese person who want to take his wife and 2 kids to spend the day at a resort would be something around 50,000L.L. (cuz kids fee is 10,000L.L.) and if they want to have lunch there another 35,000L.L. that makes 85,000L.L. in one day.
Public Transportation is cheap but most people who use those are people who have to do so…I would never use them because there is no numbers and schedules on the buses and they stop anywhere they want on the way so it takes more time if you go by foot.
Lunch or Dinner at a good restaurant will be always something close to 30,000L.L. per person.

Because currently, it could cost you your life to go there.

  8. Bélier says:

Yes it’s cheap but when you go on a vacation and u want it to be perfect, between staying at a hotel, renting a car & dining out…..u’ll empty ur pockets very fast. This is what happens to me when I go there.

  9. antelias says:

becasue man 1500 LL is equal to one dollar

so beach entrance would be 10 bucks or so

but inflation has gone up alm,ost 200 percent and if ur a traveler or a foregner u get charged waaaaaaaay more than lebanese people if u are suspected of having some money on you or look like your not from lebanon than you will get severly overcharged for anything you buy

things are worst for people actually living there but if your a tourist its still pretty costly but not as much as traveling to europe

Lebanon is not expensive for me… But of course when I’m there I dont need to pay hotel.
Anyways…….the most expensive for me are air tickets, bcoz as Aussie well said………..for us (Aussie from Australia and me from South America), have to pay nowadays more than $2.500 each ticket.
    It’s too much !!!!!!!!!!
