Ashley S asked:
I’m an American. My best friend would like me and my family to go with her to Lebanon, which is her home country.
Is it safe for my husband and I to take our two daughters (2 and 6) to Lebanon this summer for vacation? If so, are there any areas we should avoid?

really safe, dont even worry about it
yes very safe you’re gonna have an awesome time
Yes , yes , yes ! I go whenever I can & usually that is in winter or spring….it’s an amazing place with so much to see & do !
Make sure that you see the Jeita Grotto , Baalbek, zouk Mikael at Jounieh , Bourj Hamoud ( the Armenian souk just north of Beirut ) & the ancient souk in Tripoli.
For visitors a trip to the National Museum in Beirut is a must see as are the ancient seaside towns of Byblos to the north & Tyre & Sidon in the south.
As you can see I am more than just a little enthusiastic…lol
No it’s not.
It’s totally safe. I go there every weekend. You’ll have a greet time.
Enjoy swimming and shopping in Beirut.
And You’ll never forget the food.
It should be safe, and I don’t think you need to avoid any places there.
Enjoy

smartraveller.gov.au set its warning at: ‘reconsider your need to travel’. Your travel advisory says the same thing.
As long as U stay away from Hezbollah areas and do not Travel alone thru their areas especially at night.
yes it is safe,
over a million tourist come to lebanon every summer and they have a blast.
like any other country in the world (including the US) there are some neighbourhood and streets that you should not enter unless accompanied by a Lebanese who is familiar with the area. when it comes to safety, always use common sense especially in situations related to the children.
If you go to Lebanon keep your passport and that of your children with you AT ALL TIMES (it’s the law) and remember to register with the US embassy
