Its Complicated asked:
Im going to Lebanon with my husband for the first time in June, im from the middle east but not Lebanese or Arab, so i will blend in well. Im more concerned with what clothes i should wear. Friends have told me women in Lebanon get really dressed up just to go shopping or visit people, which is fine i normally do look good but i don’t go overboard unless its a party or a wedding. Does anyone have any hints or tips on how to dress? I need to know before i go so i know what to pack. Photos would be good!
Thanks, Shukran!

You shouldn’t worry about what you wear in Lebanon.
No on will judge.
Wear whatever you find comfortable or suitable.
Lebanese women do pay extra attention to their looks but dress up doesn’t need to mean formal.
People are in jeans and normal everyday clothes, but they are just well groomed.
Many go to the hairdresser weekly, manicure, pedicure etc… and tend to accessorise ( jewellery, matching shoes and handbags etc…) a little more than the west.
No need to dolly yourself up…smart casual gets by in most cases !
Jeans, Tshirt, some Birkenstocks
just be casual… and you can show as much skin as you want.. people won’t freak out or anything
Any casual look is perfect in Lebanon
as long as you dont walk around if your bikini you’ll be fine! However if you decide to visit Tripoli, then you might want to avoid a mini skirt. Dont forget to visit The palace of Hallab sweets!
Let me give u an example of the shops that represent some of the clothes that might be a small sample of how they get dressed. You have Mango, Massimo Dutti, Zara, Bershka, Pull Nd Bear, (I’m trying 2 find u international brands so that u can know what i’m talking about)… In the day it’s sport chic for most of the women ! Now in June it’s very hot, but inside the house it will be air conditioned & if u want a lebanese night oustside in the mountains, u might need a very thin jacket for the breeze ! Come, EnJoy & have Fun
